“Attack”

Bronze Eagle Statue

by Chester Fields

“Attack” depicts a bald eagle the moment before in gracefully and explosively snatches a fish from the water. Eagles strike their prey with enormous force; a bald eagle can hit with twice the force of a rifle bullet. A 12′ high monument of Attack was on display in the Forum at Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas for several years. There is a 2′ version available of this art piece at a lower price point.

The bald eagle was chosen as the national bird of the United States in 1782. Bald eagles are found only in North America, and are one of the seven species of sea eagles. The bald eagle flies with deep strokes and soars on flattened wings. It may reach speeds of up to 44 miles per hour during migration and can dive at 200 miles per hour. Eagles have 3-4 times better distance vision than humans and hearing that is comparable to a human’s. Eagles have very little sense of smell.
